What do you think of modern technology (such as internet, mp3′s, streaming video, tivo) have on the future generation such as youths.

Example,
positive – easy access to obtain knowledge and research materials right at home instead of the library and therefore births future generation who are intellectuals.
negative – corrupts youths because inappropriate content such as porn and such are easily obtained through downloading…

I agree with the positives you have listed. A major negative, I think, is that technology distracts children from other things that have more ‘meaning’, in a number of ways.
It has changed our world, in that communication is less personal now, especially via the internet. Also, text messaging has seriously affected the linguistic abilities of youth…so many cannot spell!
I also believe that the means of discovery has changed. Where once a child would go and explore the world around them for answers, or ask their parents, now they can click a mouse and have a computer tell them.
And, as I have noticed on Yahoo! Answers, kids seem to think that they don;t have to do their homework themselves, they can just ask a million strangers.
